'I tend to go back to using grids in my work as a format. I think it hints at the idea of there being a sequence or narrative throughout the piece, much like film stills. For this specific series I wanted each frame to feel like a small window into a space or environment which looks very ambiguous. Each window is a singular photopolymer plate which I’ve arranged in a square composition, meaning the final piece is made up of nine plates in total. I tried to be playful with colour by hand finishing each print with watercolours to add a more organic feel. I hope the soft watercolours and the print's tones and textures make the piece feel like washy memories. Almost like when you are trying to remember a dream, but all your mind pieces back together are very vague and hazy recollections'  Ines Fernandez de Cordova
